Branding day, sorting the calves
The main reason for painting this painting was the white shirt. I had been wanting to paint one for a while and so I went to work to find the one I liked the best. The original photo had three riders and three horses and was far too busy for my liking. The next step was to figure out how to crop it make the composition the strongest. I loved doing this painting, it was very satisfying. I believe it was the many challenges that it presented to make it look as real as possible.
