Any time you find something quite by accident it is such a treat and finding Levenworth, Washington was one of those wonderful surprises. We were taking Alix back home again after he had spent the summer with us. Instead of taking the interstate all the way to Seattle we decided to cut off at George and head over the mountains. …
Two Tree Hill At Sundown
This is my favorite view on my way home from town. It looks different every time I drive by it. I think I have taken hundreds of shots of this location. (Thank God for digital)
The Road To Town
There’s just something about the fog I have a gallery in town so I pass this way every day on my way to work. This is one of the spots that I really love, the lay of the hills, the way the trees overlap. It is just really special. But ad the fog and you have magic.
The Eagle Soars
Winter landscape with eagle The truth is that I really didn’t see this eagle soaring over the valley, I just thought it would be awesome to put him there. The next winter as I went in to the gallery I got so excited because there was the eagle right where I had painted him!
The Cattle On A Thousand Hills
Cows and calves on lush summer pasture When I drive home from the gallery every day I drive right past Rogers cows. They always tempt me to stop and take their pictures. It is good that I have a digital camera now and can take as many pictures as I want. These cows show up in many of my paintings. …
Sticken Close To The Well
Herford Cows Sticken Close to the well In hot weather cattle graze early in the morning and later in the afternoon. During the heat of the day they are looking for water. The shade is a bonus. I loved painting the Herfords. When painting any cattle, it is the difference between light and dark that makes the body take on …
Reflections
Reflections in shimmering water If there is water, there are boats and if you are in Key West, there is lots of both. I am always up for painting something new but this is really out of my usual comfort zone. My goal in this painting was to capture the shimmer of the water and the reflections from the boat.
In The Cool Of The Day
Black cows in a foggy valley Fog causes the landscape to take on a calm beauty, especially when the fog is thin and the sun is still able to work it’s magic. This scene has intrigued me for years and finally I decided that what it really needed was some black cattle and an extra shot of sun.
Wenatchee River Blues
Any time you find something quite by accident it is such a treat and finding Levenworth, Washington was one of those wonderful surprises. We were taking Alix back home again after he had spent the summer with us. Instead of taking the interstate all the way to Seattle we decided to cut off at George and head over the mountains. …
Green Pastures
Cow and Calf on lush spring pasture It wasn’t until after I got my digital camera that I was able to take successful pictures of this area. When I did it was only natural to ad the cattle to the spot and combine two of the things I love the most.
