We were at the Threshermans Bee, which is a great place to get material, when I saw this pair of horses. The photograph that I took was really bad and I ignored it for a long time. Then one day I was going to go paint with a friend and needed something to work on. I looked at this picture again and decided that I could pull the two horses up closer together and crop it down to just their heads and necks. When I got done with the drawing I got really excited. This is one of the first paintings that I put in juried competitions and it did very well. I still own the original but it is in my own collection.
